Our ambition at our cheese dairy and in our 3 cheeseshops is to use & supply as much local food & drink found in Herefordshire that we can.
This obviously includes our own cheeses, Little Hereford & Monkland, plus ...
Finn & Ragstone soft creamy cow & goats milk cheeses from Neals Yard Dairy at Dorstone.
Other hard cheeses from the neighbouring counties of Worcs, Glos & Powys include...
Old Worcester, Elgar, Lightwood Chaser, Single Gloucester,
Y Fenni, Stinking Bishop…
& many more!
All these cheeses go well with local ciders, beers, wines etc., for example;
Dunkertons Cider from Pembridge (only 3 miles away!!)
Hobsons Beers from Cleobury Mortimer (about 15 miles away)
Broadfield Court wines from Bodenham (5 miles away)
Other local food & drink you will find;
Chutneys from Woodthorpe Preserves, Kington.
Apple Juice from Bircher Common.
Cider Brandy from Hereford.
Cheese Biscuits from Craven Arms (just out of the county)

These are just a small selection of the excellent local producers sold at Monkland Dairy & the Mousetrap Cheeseshops that, put together, will make a superb Herefordshire picnic, supper or hamper!!
Even the bread in our totally Herefordshire ploughmans, sold at the Dairy, is made on the premises using Bachelre flour from Montgomery (about 30 miles away).
